Configuration: Module Settings

Every module keeps its own operational settings inside the Settings screen, in a section named after the module. This guide is the index to those sections: what each screen does, and which guide covers it in depth.

The system-wide half of the Settings screen — roles, companies, mail, backup — is covered in Settings: Overview.

Purpose

This answers: "Where is the setting that changes how this module behaves?"

Recruitment

Settings → Recruitment

ScreenWhat it does
Candidate Self TrackingLets candidates sign in to follow their own application's progress. A second switch decides whether they also see their overall rating.
Candidate Reject ReasonThe list of reasons available when rejecting a candidate — a title and an optional description each.
SkillsThe skill list attached to job openings and candidate profiles.
LinkedIn IntegrationConnects a LinkedIn account so job openings can be published there. Holds the app name, email, and API token.

See Recruitment: Overview, Candidates, and Job Requisitions.

Employee

Settings → Employee

ScreenWhat it does
Work Type, Rotating Work Type, Employee Shift, Rotating Shift, Employee Shift Schedule, Employee TypeThe scheduling building blocks — see Work Types & Shifts.
Disciplinary Action TypeThe kinds of formal action that can be recorded: a title, a category (Warning, Suspension, or Dismissal), and whether that action may block the employee's login.
Employee TagsFree-form labels, each with a colour, for grouping and filtering employee records.

The login-blocking option on an action type only takes effect if Restrict Login Account is switched on in General Settings. See Employee: Disciplinary Actions.

Attendance

Settings → Attendance

ScreenWhat it does
Track Late Come & Early OutThe master switch for recording late arrivals and early departures.
Attendance Break PointThe validation rules: worked hours up to which attendance is approved automatically, the minimum overtime worth approving, the overtime cut-off, and whether overtime is auto-approved. Only one set of rules exists.
Check In/Check OutWhether the check-in and check-out button is available to employees at all.
Grace TimeAllowances, in hours, minutes, and seconds, applied to check-in, to check-out, or to both. One can be marked as the default; others can be attached to individual shifts.
Biometric AttendanceTurns on attendance capture from biometric devices.
IP RestrictionRestricts attendance marking to a list of allowed IP addresses.
Geo & Face ConfigGeofencing — a latitude, longitude, and radius in metres that attendance must be marked within — and face capture at check-in. Each can be switched on separately.

See Attendance: Clocking In & Out, Requests & Overtime, and Biometric, Face & Location Verification.

Leave

Settings → Leave

ScreenWhat it does
RestrictionsWhether employees may request leave for dates in the past.
Compensatory LeaveTurns on converting a worked holiday into leave, and shows the dedicated leave type it credits. Needs the Attendance module.

The dated restrictions — periods when leave cannot be taken at all — are a different screen, in the Configuration menu: see Holidays & Company Leaves. See also Leave: Allocation & Compensatory Leave.

Payroll

Settings → Payroll

ScreenWhat it does
Reimbursement ApproversPer company: the escalation tiers that decide who approves a claim of a given size, and the fallback approver group used when an employee's reporting line contains no approver.
Payslip Auto GenerationWhether payslips are generated automatically, and on which day of the month — any date from the 1st to the 31st, or the month's last day. Set per company.

The fallback group must contain an active employee in that company, and its members cannot also be tier approvers. See Payroll: Reimbursements & Encashments and Payroll: Payslips.

Several other payroll settings — the currency, the default notice period, and the encashment rates — live on the shared General Settings page instead. See Settings: General Settings.

Performance

Settings → Performance

ScreenWhat it does
Bonus Point SettingRules that award bonus points automatically. Each rule names what it watches (an objective, a key result, or — with the Project module — a task or project), who receives the points (the owner, the members, or the managers), what earns them (completing or closing the record), an optional date condition such as completion date on or before the end date, and how many points to award.

See Performance: Bonus Points.

Training

Settings → Training

ScreenWhat it does
Training CategoriesHow the course catalog is organized.
Evaluation TemplatesQuestion sets used for post-training feedback.
Training BudgetsThe yearly budget per company and department.
Training SettingsThe default evaluation template and the evaluation window, per company.

See Training: Programs & Categories, Evaluations, and Budgets & Settings.

Help Desk

Settings → Help Desk

ScreenWhat it does
Department ManagersWho manages each department, for routing tickets raised against it.
Ticket TypeThe kinds of ticket that can be raised — each with a title, a type, and a short unique prefix used in ticket references.
Helpdesk TagsColoured labels for grouping tickets.

See Help Desk: Tickets.

How Visibility Is Decided

  1. Installed modules. A section only appears if its module is installed, and some individual entries need an extra module — biometric attendance needs the biometric module, compensatory leave needs Attendance.
  2. Permissions. Each entry has its own permission check, so an administrator responsible for one module sees only that module's section.
  3. Company. Most of these settings are per company and follow the company switcher; the attendance validation rules are a single system-wide set.

Good to Know

  • A switch here can make a whole feature disappear. Turning off Check In/Check Out, compensatory leave, or candidate self-tracking removes those screens for everyone, not just their settings.
  • Some settings interact. An action type that blocks login does nothing until account restriction is enabled; a grace time applies to a shift only once it is attached to one.
  • Two entries only appear for a full system administrator — Helpdesk Tags and Bonus Point Setting. See Settings: Overview.
  • Not everything a module needs is in its own section. Payroll's currency and notice period sit on the General Settings page, and the leave calendar sits in the Configuration menu.
